Description: This club will introduce students to the game of chess. They will; learn the names and abilities of each piece, learn the rules of the game, and understand basic strategies of game play. Once the students understand the fundamentals, they will play situational chess as well as a full game vs. an opponent.
Guidelines: 20 participants will be accepted through a lottery and you will be notified if your child is in the club before the start date.
Note: The fall is for 2nd and 3rd grade students only.
Meeting Dates: Fall: Tuesdays & Thursdays from 8:20 a.m. - 8:50 a.m.
Spring: Grades 4 and 5

Note: The spring club is for 4th and 5th grade students only.
Meeting Dates: Spring: 10 students will meet on Tuesdays and the other 10 students will meet on Wednesdays from 3:50-5:00.
Pick up will be promptly at 5:00 PM in the South Parking Lot by the security desk.
Children will be released only to persons authorized by the parents.
You must sign out your child with Mr. Fenster
SNACK: Your child is welcome to bring a quick mess-free snack.
