Ninth Grade Scheduling

9th Grade Electives

The majority of ninth grade students are able to fit one or more half credit electives into their schedule. These half credit electives are offered on an everyday basis for half the school year. Please review course catalog for electives options. 

There is no guarantee students will be placed in all of their requested electives. Course and section limitations, caps, and 

placement conflicts may affect the final schedule.

Music/Art at Ward Melville

1 Credit of Music and/or Art is required for high school graduation. After earning 1 credit, Music/Art courses are an elective choice. 

Performance based Music courses (Band, Orchestra, and Chorus) are offered on an every day basis for the full year, earning 1 credit.

NCAA

Potential college athletes should be aware that it is the students responsibility to select courses that meet the NCAA eligibility course requirements as it may affect the students eligibility status, as well as, possible college options.
