Quarterly Timeline

Quarter 1: 9/2/25-11/7/25

• Schedule Modifications 

  • • Level changes 

    • Drop/add of elective courses 

    • Literacy and Math AIS placements and progress monitoring 

• 6th and 7th grade student/counselor group

  • • Counselors meet with students in small groups during Art/Tech/Home and Career class 

    • Discuss transition to middle school 

    • Distribute, or make available, list of after school clubs and activities that students can become involved with 

    • Orient students with Guidance Office and procedures for seeing the counselors.

• Counselor/student appointments as needed, requested, or required 

• Parent Portal: 

  • • Grades and information regarding student progress are available on the parent portal. Check regularly to receive up-to-date information on your child’s status. 

Quarter 2: 11/8/24 - 1/23/26

• Attend parent-teacher meetings as appropriate and/or when requested 

• Counselor/student appointments as needed, requested or required 

• Midterms 

• WMHS Freshman Orientation

• Parent Portal: 

  • Grades and information regarding student progress are available on the parent portal. Check regularly to receive up-to-date information on your child’s status. 

Quarter 3: 1/24/26 - 4/3/26

• Counselor/student appointments as needed, requested or required 

• Presentation to the WMHS Course Offering Guide to 8th grade students by the middle school counselors

• Distribution of the middle school materials to 5th grades and counselor visitations to classes

• 5th Grade Parent Orientation

• Distribution of scheduling materials & scheduling for 6th into 7th, 7th into 8th, and 8th into 9th

• Parent Portal:

Quarter 4: 4/4/26 -6/26/26

• Counselor/student appointments as needed, requested, or required 

• Course Verification Portal opens for WMHS

• Course Verification Portal opens for middle school grades 5 into 6, 6 into 7, 7 into 8

• 7th and 8th grade ELA Assessment

• 7th and 8th grade Math Assessment

• 8th grade Science Performance Test 

• 8th grade Science Written Test 

• Finals and Regents Exams
