Paul L. Dunbar Middle School for Historical Research and Museum Studies is a Community School in partnership with the Children's Aid Society located in the South Bronx. We offer a diverse academic curriculum with rigorous instruction that is common core aligned with numerous school and community resources. The faculty offers whole class and small group instruction, Afterschool and Saturday programming along with family and student events throughout the school year. Our motto is to get better every day and we strive to continuously improve and progress our school.
The Paul L. Dunbar Middle School for Historical Research and Museum Studies is rooted in the premise that positive beliefs about how students learn coupled with positive actions, in and out of the classroom, will lead to positive academic and social-emotional outcomes.
Paul L. Dunbar Middle School for Historical Research and Museum Studies is a learning organization that seeks to prepare students for future academic and career endeavors by promoting creativity in discussion, writing, and problem solving, as well as collaboration and teamwork in achieving goals in order to promote students to impact their community, both immediate and global. The focus on creativity, collaboration, and community will help our students to adapt to 21st Century challenges. The students, staff, and families alike are dedicated to working towards improving as individuals and as a community on a daily basis.
