For thousands of years, we have thought of our oceans as endless, an infinite supply of food. Is this true? No! As we grew as a species, so did our consumption and need for resources. We’ve evolved from stone tools to spears, then reels, then traps, then nets for catching fish. As we grew, our nets became bigger, and our fishing fleets became larger. Fish populations are disappearing, the food chain is collapsing, all because of the amount of fish we eat. As a species living on this earth, we can’t let ourselves eat the ocean. Can we find solutions in the history of Ancient China, on massive fishing boats, inside of fish markets?

In recent years many resources have become harder and more difficult to obtain, a lot of these items can be found in your phone or laptop. For my project I will be creating an easy way for students and teachers to donate their broken or unwanted electronics and greatly benefit the environment just by bringing them to their school.

As time passes this planet will lose many of its natural resources and humanity will have the choice of mining other planets or finding another place to live. Mars is the clear option for this as the essential resources for life are present on the Martian surface. In order to make Mars habitable, a process of terraforming must be set in motion, aiming to transform the currently desolate world by eliminating its dusty surface and fostering a thriving green planet. This ambitious endeavour involves installing an artificial magnetic field, heating up the atmosphere and strategically creating water sources. Can we solve the issues created by an ever increasing population through the use of advanced technology?

Have you ever wondered about the future of space exploration? For over 60 years humans have been exploring space but more recently there has been an increase in interest. New ideas are being developed to find out more about what might be out there and further afield. 49% of Americans want to travel to outer space. Will we be sending more and more people into space? If so how will we fuel it? What more is out there? The information from my project can help you learn more about space exploration and consider how the problem of fuel might be solved.

The impacts of climate change… we don’t have to worry about that. That’s a thing of the future, right?
Wrong! The number of climate refugees is growing exponentially as the stability of our world's climate declines. How do we support all of these refugees? How do we prevent more of them? What can we do? What can YOU do?
