Physical Education + Physical Development Objectives

As part of our Curriculum, children will do PE twice a week.

PE days will be Monday and Friday.

Weather permitting, one of the sessions will be outside.

It is important your child has warm clothing.

This should include trainers, shorts, jogging bottoms, tee-shirt and a jumper.

* Although PE days are scheduled for Monday and Friday, please leave your child's PE kit in school from Monday each week. If there are any changes in our timetable, this would allow us to still do PE and also helps for any accidents!

Moving and handling:

Children show good control and co-ordination in large and small movements. They move confidently in a range of ways, safely negotiating space. They handle equipment and tools effectively, including pencils for writing.

Health and self-care:

Children know the importance for good health of physical exercise, and a healthy diet, and talk about ways to keep healthy and safe. They manage their own basic hygiene and personal needs successfully, including dressing and going to the toilet independently.

Outdoor Play

Children in Reception will have access to the courtyard every day, as well as morning and afternoon break times.

*It is essential your child has waterproof shoes and coat, wellingtons and a change of clothes for outdoor play*
