Netball for All provides equipment, kit and coaching to netball teams across Malawi to enable more girls and women to participate in the sport.

It was set up in 2019 as a tribute to Belinda Weller (1961-2019), a founding member of the Watson's Malawi Partnership, who had a great passion for netball and a strong appreciation for the empowering qualities of sport.

New hard-surface court

A lack of safe, high quality playing surfaces is one of the biggest barriers to the many Malawian aspiring athletes keen to participate in this national sport.

Thanks to the friends and family of Belinda Weller, Netball for All raised enough money to help the ward of Kaliyeka build its very own netball court. More >>

Team sponsorship

Netball for All also provides playing kit and coaching equipment for two ladies teams: SCORES Queens and Kalulu Queens in Lilongwe. More >>

Belinda Weller:
The inspiration behind
Netball for All

Belinda Weller was an Australian-born neurologist who lived in Edinburgh with her husband and three children, who attended George Watson's College between 2004 to 2015.

Belinda visited Malawi as one of the founding members of the Watson’s Malawi Partnership and felt inspired to do what she could to help Malawians bring themselves out of poverty. Belinda was a lifelong netball enthusiast, having played for her local teams in Adelaide, and later at State level. She had a passion for sport and the positive effects it could have on young people. On her visits to Malawi, she experienced first-hand the power of sport in empowering young women in particular, and broadening their horizons.

When Belinda passed away in 2019, her family and friends created ‘Netball for All’ so that her love of the sport and dedication to supporting the people of Malawi might live on. Its aim is to enable more girls and young women to get involved with netball in Malawi - securing the equipment, kit and coaching the sport needs to develop in a sustainable way, using local resources wherever possible to support the local economy.

Belinda’s family are incredibly grateful to everyone has supported Netball for All so far and hope this will be a fitting tribute to someone of whom they are so proud.
