Intramural Sports are FUN!
Intramural Sports are INCLUSIVE - they provide something for everyone, regardless of their age, gender, size, shape, ability, culture or socio-economic status!
Intramural Sports attempts reach traditionally inactive students – even students with low skill levels!
Intramural Sports can include a diverse range of activities!
Intramural Sports provide opportunities for leadership development for children and youth!
Withrow Intramural Challenge Events
Some new intramural events will happening this school year. Students will test their abilities and see how they stack up against their schoolmates and maybe even their teachers.
BASKETBALL SHOOTING CONTEST
All interest students in Grade 1-6 will get a chance to participate in this event. Students will get to shoot from 8 different spots and earn points for each basket made. Can you beat Mr. T?
HAND TENNIS TOURNAMENT
Only Grade 4-6 students will be able to participate in the 1st annual HAND TENNIS tournament. Students will find their own partner and sign up for this single elimination epic battle. Of course, Mr. T and his mystery partner will be looking for victory!

Junior Intramural Sports - Grade 4-6
Junior intramural sports are for all students in Grade 4/5/6. Students play in leagues designed to give students a feel for sports. All junior students are given the opportunity to sign up for intramural sports during their HPE classes.

Primary Lunch Time Sports - Grade 1-3
Primary intramural sports are for all students in Grade 1/2/3 and serve as introduction to sports leagues. The emphasis is on participation, sport introduction, and skill development, rather then keeping score. Participating students earn point for their team just by showing up. All primary students are given the opportunity to sign up for intramural sports during their HPE classes.

Withrow Athletic Association (WAA)
The Withrow Athletic Association or WAA is a group of dedicated Grade 5/6 students who assist Mr. T with the implementation and facilitation of Primary and Junior intramural sports. The WAA members serve as coaches, referees, scorekeepers, and equipment monitors. They serve as role models and mentors to the younger students as they gain valuable leadership experience. The WAA also helps organize and run our annual play day in the summer.
Sign Up for the WAA takes place in the September and all Grade 5/6 students are welcome to join.
