THE FOUNDATION

In the year 1960, Kilachand Devchand Polytechnic (Government Polytechnic), Patan was established by the state and the central government with the help of Shri Jivanlal Chotalal shah in memory of his grandfather Shri Kilachand Devchand. Shri Kilachand Devchand was a visionary man, philanthropist, and entrepreneur. His family (The Kilachand group) established India's first modern shipyard (Scindia Steam Navigation Company Ltd.), first aircraft factory (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited), first car factory, construction companies (Dodsal Group), sugar factories (Kesar Enterprises Limited) and many other businesses.

ABOUT COLLEGE

K.D Polytechnic, also known as Kilachand Devchand Polytechnic, was established in 1961 at Patan, Gujarat. The institute offers diploma courses in 5 specialization and it is affiliated with Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad. This polytechnic is a premier technical education and training institute in the North Gujarat. The institute celebrates freedom of thought, cultivates vision and encourages growth but also includes human values and concern for the environment and the society.
