Enjoyed playing StN4 Get the Lights! from Operation Chariot from Le Franc Tireur.

16 April 2018 Update

Getting ready to play BFP-35 Mai Phu- I will be the attacking Japanese against defending FRENCH in Indochina! I have artillery, air support, and TANKS and the French have AT guns, tanks, and a gun en portee!

Playing AP131 "Crickets in Spring" as the Russians. We are through 4.5 player turns and it appears pretty tight. The Germans have taken significant losses but have the ability to snag some buildings and have a Panther still prowling that has so far killed 2 T-34/85s.

This game ended in a major Russian Victory, 76 VP/CVP to 35 for the Germans.

Board after 3.5 turns of CG Date 4

This was fun- 32-1 shot that rolled snake eyes after IJA strayed into the big kill stack! Never had a 5 KIA result before, sadly only one squad got it.

Campaign Game Date 4, Turn 1 in the books!

This is a really great campaign so far- the CPP allotment allows for some Japanese counterattacks during this game and CG date 5. As the USMC player I am hoping to get a Ford going on my left flank while holding the vital Pillbox locations on my right flank. The Japanese appear to be committed to attacking on my right so it looks like the front may turn some to the right. As the USMC you feel a little thin during this CG. Without the Ford in place I haven't been able to purchase on board RGG and put on South side of Creek. I also have to hold the entire front whereas the IJA can focus their counterattack to disrupt my Control of even a single PB or PB cellar and thus deny victory.

Very cool campaign that I highly recommend!

A big thank you to Vic Provost from Dispatches from the Bunker for the playtest shoutout!

Will the next CG Date see a Banzai Charge? We shall see...

End of CG 3 Photos Below.

USMC control 9 of 18 pillboxes and have pushed deep into south side of creek. I did get careless and didn't enter all Pillbox Cellar locations so that cost me two pillboxes that I thought I controlled until HIP units were revealed in the cellars.

All in all a good show for the USMC with the CVP thoroughly in my favor. The downside of that being the IJA get to add a d6 to their reinforcements for next game.

Next game I'll bring on Dozers and possibly Shermans. I'll have to hold against some strong Japanese counterattacks but hopefully will give some good opportunities to bring firepower to bear.

It is interesting how the USMC "feel" isolated here but per definition do not appear to be.

Battleschool USMC dice and the map drawn following CG3

We are finished with the second campaign date, January 2 NIGHT. It saw the USMC clear the north bank of all Japanese resistance and create two tiny (as in single hex) bridgeheads across the creek along with maintaining the small bridgehead on the right flank. The next scenario will see a major American push to create some breathing room for the dozers/armor that will be coming on next scenario.

Scenario 2- 3.5 Turns In

We have finished the first scenario. It ended following Japanese turn 6. The Americans have a small bridgehead on the south side of the creek along the west board edge. The only negative part of the first day's outcome as I see it as I allowed the Japanese to maintain one small (3 hex) setup area on the far east edge of board NORTH of the creek. Otherwise I am well pleased.

One item of note is that I have not discovered any Wire bordering the creek yet? Maybe none purchased or maybe I have just avoided it?

I have embarked on the Suicide Creek HASL Campaign Game, Green Inferno, from ASL Journal 9. We have played 5 turns of the 1st campaign date so far. We had one successful Baz43 shot against a pillbox...to no effect! ;-(

As the Americans my strategy has been to push hard on the right flank, hoping to create a small bridgehead in the first date that I can then use to get in behind the pillboxes that I am sure are lining the south side of the Creek. After 5 turns I am in the Creek but not out of it, and hopefully not up it without a paddle!

Casualty-wise we are even which I would say is a big win for me thus far, although I have only started encountering all those MMG and HMG!
