Key placement information for mentors and leads
All Secondary trainees are on placement 5 days per week between the dates shown below.
FET trainees are on placement 3 days per week (Wednesday-Friday) until Easter after which they are on placement 4 days per week (Tuesday-Friday).
All Secondary trainees will need to be free 13:00-15:00 every Thursday throughout placement to engage in online sessions delivered by their university tutor.
There is a suggested induction timetable to assist with trainee induction in the first week. This can be viewed here
There is a weekly curriculum for every course which outlines the learning milestones for that week on that course. Curricula can be found by clicking here and scrolling down the page to Secondary or FET. Mentors also get a weekly email outlining the curriculum for that week. You can find a bank of these communications by clicking here
All mentors must attend mentor training once per academic year. This is part of our Ofsted compliance as a provider of ITE. You can book for mentor training by clicking here.
Each trainee is allocated a university-based Link Tutor. The Link Tutor is the single point of contact for anything related to that trainee whilst on placement.
More information can be found by clicking in on 'Mentor FAQs' in the the drop down menu on the left of this page or clicking here.
