Exhibit 2

Art Museum

Background: I chose an image of a woman walking through the streets of Antigua, Guatemala for this exhibit.

Design:

  • Contrast: I chose an image with color contrast between the neutral background and the bright colors of the woman's dress and flowers.

  • Alignment: The woman is aligned on the lefthand side of the image, with space for her to walk forward through the image. The image is then aligned in the center of the museum.

Photoshop Skills Used:

  • I used the Art History brush in photoshop to transform the photograph into a painting.

  • I used larger strokes on the wall to give an abstract impression and smaller strokes on the woman so that we can see some of the details of her face, dress and flowers.

  • I then took the image of the woman and inserted it into an image of a woman in a museum.

  • I used layer masks to place the photo in the image so that it appears behind the woman's head, as if it is hanging on the wall.

Revisions:

  • My professor suggested placing the image of the woman walking into another image, so I placed it in a museum gallery.
