Kali Thurman, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner-Board Certified (PMHNP-BC)

Education: I completed my undergraduate nursing education at the University of North Florida and received my Master of Science in Nursing-Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (MSN-PMHNP) degree from Jacksonville University. In my undergraduate education, I had the opportunity serve in an outreach capacity in the Jacksonville community. Through this experience, I was able to discover the intrinsic rewards of providing mental health care to at-risk populations. I have spent nearly all my nursing career, since 2014, working in mental health settings. My experience includes working with children, adolescents, and adults in the inpatient and outpatient environment.

Philosophy of Care: My experiences taught me that the relationship I establish with my clients is critical to the care I provide and that recovery is a dynamic process that is unique to each person. I believe my success as a provider can be measured by the level of independence my clients are able to achieve in caring for their mental health. I focus on making decisions with the client rather than for them and believe that empowering clients to make informed decisions improves long-term outcomes. My goal is always to give my clients the tools they need to maintain the work we begin together.
