Mr. Help's Passport

Welcome to your culminating activity - the Mr. Help's Passport Country Presentation

Your job is to create an-depth look at the country of your choice. You must include the five themes of geography (Mr. Help) and show what you have learned over these past units. You will need to pick any country in the world (not USA) and become an expert on it!

Introductory Slide Student Name, Country, and the country's flag as the background colors

Day #1: What is your arriving airport, what is the absolute location, and list the main modes of transportation to leave airport- need image of airport and transportation

Day #2: Find an interesting place to go and describe why. Also, include what the main climate is and official language.

Day #3: Find an interesting place to go and describe why. Also, include any famous or unusual examples or places showing Art and Music.

Day #4: Find an interesting place to go and describe why. Also, include any famous or unusual places to eat, basic food for the country, and how people dress.

Day #5: Find an interesting place to go and describe why. Also, include examples of their main religion and what type of government does the country follow.

Day #6: Find an interesting place to go and describe why. Also, list and show their three neighboring countries or closest geographically.

Day #7: Find an interesting place to go and describe why. Also, list and show three different and unique interesting landforms.

Day #8: Find an interesting place to go and describe why. Also, list and show three specific bodies of water.

Day #9: Find an interesting place to go and describe why. Also, show the political map of country, currency and exchange rate with the US Dollar, and Capital city of your country.

Day #10: What is your departing airport (different than arriving) and two interesting or unusual facts about your country not found in the slides above.

Presentation Style:

14 Slides: (3 -5 topics on every slide/make sure you have at least 2 pictures on every slide)

Some tips or tidbits!

Country Project: Slides:

1) Watch your: Capitalization – Punctuation – Spelling

2) Color of text versus background versus sunlight

3) Don’t put something on the slide you aren’t going to refer to

4) If the number is under 100, write it out in words

5) Bullets beats paragraphs

6) Two pictures every slide – doesn’t include the background

7) More is better – less isn’t good

8) The notes portion under the slides won’t show on the screen

9) Having music accompanying the slides is fine.

10) There can or even should be be animation or transitions.

11) Slide headings – Do Not Have Slide 1,2,3,4 – be creative – actual days or like a brochure

12) The notes and rubric are guides for information – not the be all to end all

13) 1st or 2nd or 3rd person point of view writing is fine
