CompAccelRemote

A program that moves a computer's cursor based on accelerometer data from the tablet. Lean the tablet forward to move the cursor up, for example.

The server software is the same as used in my other app, CompRemote, and is avaiable here.

The basic setup procedure is the same as CompRemote.

First, start the server on the computer that you want to control.

The server requires Java. If Java is installed on your computer, you should be able to double-click the downloaded CompRemote.jar file to start the server.

Please note that you do not have to extract any files out of the compremote.jar file; simply double-click it.

Once the server starts, type in a password into the password box and press Start. You will need to enter this password on the playbook  to connect to the computer.

Then, the CompRemote app will display your IP addresses. These will be required for the CompAccelRemote app to connect to the computer.

On the Playbook, enter an IP address and the password you entered into the server on the start screen.

If a connection error occurs:

-try a different IP address, if there is more than one for your computer.

-check if the password is incorrect.

-check if the server is running on the computer.

-check if the PlayBook is connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

-check if the computer has a firewall. Configure it to allow the CompRemote server to communicate.

Once the app is connected to the server, this screen would display:

The pause button stops the accelerometer from moving the cursor.

The tilt-for-speed mode allows the tablet to move the cursor using a speed set by the tilt of the device. With the mode off, the position of the tablet directly influence the position of the cursor on the screen.

The buttons at the botton is a left and a right mouse button, respectively.

The top displays the current accelerometer data.
