Art Therapy

Art therapy accesses other parts of the brain in order to work through anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, and much more:

Art therapy is talk-therapy's visually creative expressive counterpart. In talk therapy, a person primarily relies on auditory learning, but in art therapy the client is able to work through life struggles by utilizing their visual creativity. It is through art that a person can access other parts of their brain that see the art being put onto the medium, and move the hand to create what will be seen.

Do I need to be an artist to be in art therapy?: Not at all. A client of art therapy may have little more skill than to draw stick figures. Art therapy is not about how detailed of an artist you are, but about how your art therapist uses art as a way to help you overcome problems.

Does insurance cover this? Some insurance plans will reimburse you a portion of your costs.
