Jane

Jane is a silver Persian cat. She's owned by a Mrs. Felicia Featherstone, a lonely old widow who rents one of the cabins at the golf club indefinitely. With no family or loved ones nearby, the woman is content to stay on at the club, as she and her deceased husband often went golfing together and it makes her nostalgic. And Ray, grateful for the money as well as compassionate to her troubles, is content to let her stay.

Her cat is adept at getting out of the cabin and roams around the club. She's well-behaved and never makes a mess. However, she adores both Coley and Ray in addition to her owner, and she loves sitting on Ray's desk, stretching on the computer keyboard in the main lobby (especially if Coley is using it), and laying on Coley when he's trying to sleep. Coley is initially not terribly receptive.

Coley cares about Jane in spite of himself and would be the first to defend her if she needed it, although at any other time he grumbles and growls about her laying on the keyboard, his hands, and him.

Over time, as Coley softens towards Jane and holds and pets her, she reciprocates by generally obeying when he tells her not to do something. She has what she wants.
