Arts & Culture

Arts & Culture should be one of the central tenets in Niagara Falls.

There is real value in a creative city - a creative Niagara Falls.

Many obsolete factories have left Niagara Falls and now we need to become more of a creative city. We need to support the creative artists that bring value to our city and have them manifest the communities ideas and vision through their art.

Furthermore, cities need more then basic Infrastructure - cities need culture.

We have all the #1 Parks & Recreation we need: It is time to fund Culture

My Arts & Culture suggestions for our city are:

  • more Public Art with a mandatory 1% for Public Art Program & a Public Art Reserve

  • a revise Public Art Policy

  • a full-time Culture Manager Position represented in city manager meetings.

  • more cultural festivals and eventing

  • legalised public busking with a city permit program

  • an increased food truck experience ( food truck districts )

By investing in Arts & Culture we will get great economic returns & benefits to our city.

A recent study by Americians for the Arts reported that each year the government provides $4 billion to NGO arts organisations. In return, the arts industry generates nearly $30 billion in revenue. The economic impacts of public art are difficult to measure but it could transform our city and the way people recognise and contemplate the world around them.

How long did it take for the casino to decide to put entertainment in? One Minute!

It is time for the city of Niagara Falls to decide.

I will bring an expansive program of arts & culture, which is a natural extension of tourism & hospitality.

If we want our Jr. A team back, jobs, bike lanes, a new hospital... we are going to have to do this.
