The CEO of Kiwi Rail, Jim Quinn will be doing a presentation at a meeting at the Northland Regional Council offices in Whangarei from 1p.m. tomorrow

The last item on this meeting's agenda (8.2) will be finalising a submission by the Northland Regional Council's Transport Committee the The New Zealand Transport Agency (7th of February 2011) strongly supporting the Puhoi-Wellsford motorway extension in which they intimate an acceptance that Northland's railways will be 'downgraded' and ask that preparation be made for the increase in freight being carried on trucks on our roads.
