The Anvil Lake Website

Home

Anvil Lake is zoned for single family residential development. A single resort, offering luxury rental chalets, operates under "grandfathered" status. A National Forest campground features 18 campsites, a large beach, boat landing, historic picnic shelter and restrooms. The Anvil National Recreation Trail features 12 miles of groomed cross country skiing. The trail is also open to hiking in the summer. Snowmobile Trail #10, which is maintained by the Sno-Eagles of Eagle River, runs along the south end of Anvil Lake and provides access to hundreds of miles of trail in the Northwoods.

Anglers are challenged by a large population of northern pike, along with walleye pike, bass and several types of pan fish. Resident bald eagles, trumpeter swans and loons add to the Northwoods charm. The Blackjack Springs Wilderness Area is adjacent to the west side of Anvil Lake.
