Burnet--But Why?" by Greg Olds, gives history of the naming of the town and shows a picture of signers of petition asking for creation of the county. (3) Newspaper page from the Highlander, 27 Jan 1972 with article by Frank Rigler, "More on Magill", in which he describes the James P. Magill story found in "History of Texas" printed in 1893. On the same page is an article, with pictures, of Mayfield Kothmann and his large collection of arrowheads and tomahawks found on the Kothmann ranch in Llano county. Recounts story of Herman Lehmann, who was captured at age 11 by the Apaches in May 1870, just a few miles from the Kothmann ranch, called "Buchmier Gardens" on Squaw Creek.
