Giving
How can I give to the parish?
Internet banking
Lots of people now use internet banking as their main way of banking.
All we need for our reference for bank statements is: your surname, initials, and "General Funds" (e.g. Smith J M, General Funds). If you are donating to missions or a specific ministry, just use "Missions" or the ministry name instead of "General Funds".
If you are giving money for Hall bookings/ kidsclub/ wedding/ etc.,
use the parish account PARISH OF OAMARU-MAHENO 060941 001830900
and include the payment details (Hall/ Kidsclub/ Wedding, etc) as reference.
Donations paid directly into the Church accounts by internet banking are collated monthly by the Recorder and a tax rebate receipt is issued at the end of the financial year.
Parish account: PARISH OF OAMARU-MAHENO 060941 0018309 00
St Andrew's Maheno account: 020940 0022146 00
Automatic payment
Some people like to go into the bank to set up an automatic payment. You can either use your surname & initials as a reference or, if you prefer, your "envelope number". You can request an "envelope number" from stlukesoamaru@gmail.com (or phone Gillian on 03 434 0214). If using your envelope number put this in the "particulars" box in the “Payee Details” section of the bank AP form.
Donations paid directly into the Parish account by automatic payment are collated monthly by the Treasurer and a tax rebate receipt is issued at the end of the financial year; the same is true for giving to the St Andrew's account
The envelope system into the offering plate on Sundays
You can give by cash via an envelope with your unique "envelope number" to get a receipt.
If requested (stlukesoamaru@gmail.com or phone 03 434 2014), Gillian will issue you a set of envelopes with your number on them. This system is almost fully anonymous, as the people who count the money are different from the person issuing the envelopes.
Rob Douglas (ph 439 4004) can issue envelopes for St Andrew's Church.
By cash into the offering plate on Sundays
This is anonymous but, as no receipt can be issued, donations can't be claimed as a charitable donation.
Receipts for tax rebates
If you give a donation by internet banking/ automatic payment/ using the "envelope system" to give cash on Sundays, a receipt for donations can be issued at the end of each tax year which you can use to claim a 33% rebate on. If you need your receipt earlier, email stlukesoamaru@gmail.com or contact Gillian Lynch (03 434 2014) for donations to the parish account or Rob Douglas (ph 439 4004) for donations to St Andrew's Maheno.
