1 Preparation
First - make sure you brought all of the pieces to the lake.
At some point, before the race, make sure the mast is straight.
Always discuss the issues with fellow skippers. It's probable that they know something you don't, or have the part you forgot to bring.
... and by all means, don't forget to tighten the downhaul !!
