Construction on Babcock Ranch infrastructure should begin in 2010
and construction on buildings and homes is scheduled to start in 2011.
The project will cost about $2 billion to complete.
Plans for Babcock Ranch include 19,500 homes in neighborhoods situated around a city center. Population at build-out is
expected to reach 45,000. Approximately 6 million square feet
of commercial and civic space is also planned.
