SabatThe second largest squad member after Burta. He goes through his battles only half serious, but his power, speed, and toughness are all tremendous. He's an odd guy, always striking a pose before he fights. His appear is a large, muscular, humanoid alien with red hair (however, he is resembles a human). He is the most flamboyant member of the Ginyu Special-Squad, seen striking poses more often in battle than Captain Ginyu himself, and generally behaving in a deceptively goofy manner. Somewhat, his burnt hair looks similar to that of Jinzoningen #16. However, Recoom is actually fairly intelligent, as well as sadistic, and he greatly enjoys toying with his opponents and drawing them in with taunts. Recoom is one of the longest-lasting Ginyu Special-Squad members in terms of screen time, though chronologically he is defeated second and dies not long after. He is also the first member of the Ginyu Force to appear onscreen during the team's elaborate introductory routine to Freeza.

He effortlessly beat down Vegeta, Gohan, and Kuririn, but Goku knocked him unconscious with one strike of his elbow, and falls over unconscious, much to everyone's disbelief. Later, after Vegeta kills Burta, he also kills the unconscious Recoom, completely killing his body with a huge blast from behind.

After his death, Kaio-sama summoned his spirit, and he appeared on Planet Kaio. He fought Yamcha and lost, and was cast down to Hell together with the rest of the squad members. Later, Grand Kai brings word of terror spreading in Hell, Goku and Pikkon venture down to alleviate the chaos with those villains and himself, only to be put down a the needles. Later, they all end up in a prison cell. Next, Recoom is seen onscreen is during the Kid Buu  Saga, when he is watching the final battle between Kid Buu and Goku.

Recoom returns in the movie Fusion Reborn along with Burta and Jhees, and also makes a small cameo appearance in Dragon Ball GT, where a news broadcast shows him flying out of Hell with a slew of villains and later sent back after being beaten up by the Z-Senshi.

Note to that Recoom had easily dominated a powered-up Vegeta, who at the time had a power level of 30,000 (volume 23). Kuririn states that Burta and Jhees have about the same ki as Recoom (volume 24). Taking these factors into consideration, Recoom's power level was approximately on the same level as that of Burta and Jhees'. When Captain Ginyu estimated Goku's power level to be at around 60,000, Jhees exclaimed that Recoom never stood a chance. Perhaps the best resource to confirm Recoom's power level is the RPG game, Legend of the Super Saiyan, where in the battle against Recoom, he is at a maximum of 65,000.
