Casualties of War

Community volunteer work has become increasing scarce in society because of cultural emphasis on commercial and corporate War Profiteering. Making money trumps all other values under the corporate gods of war. Towns could really use more support from the National Guard, but under the current system this is impossible.

There are so many forms of peaceful service that will not pay new recruits, and this is unfortunate. The National Park Service and our Educational Departments deserve better funding. Town, County, State, and National non-profit and political work sadly depends on volunteers while only the privileged few are rewarded with profit.

Old fraternal, humanitarian, and new environmental organizations are casualties of War. As a member of the Odd Fellows I have made an oath to the Golden Rule, as told in the parable of the Good Samaritan. This parable was told by Jesus to illustrate that compassion should be for all people.
