How To Go On A Walk

It is your responsibility to ensure that you are fit enough to do the walk. If in doubt, ask the leader of the walk. We have a grading system but even so, what can be an easy walk for one person may be quite strenuous for another.

PLEASE NOTE: A SIGNIFICANT NUMBER OF OUR WALKS ARE OFF TRACK AND MAY INVOLVE SUBSTANTIAL UPHILL WALKING.

The leader will provide details about the walk such as any additional equipment to bring and the meeting place. If a walk is cancelled due to inclement weather you will be contacted.

While on a walk, please remember that bushwalking can be dangerous. All participants in Club activities are required to sign a Risk Waiver form.

Meeting Place and Car Pool Costs

The leader of a walk will organise the meeting place and car pool. Passengers are expected to contribute towards the driver's expenses at a rate of 10 cents per klm per person. Always check with the leader on meeting arrangements regarding the particular walk you nominate for. Please put your phone number, suburb and transport requirements on the nomination form.

Walking Together

The Club walks as a group. Members are expected to stay together. Be responsible for the person behind you. Notify the leader if that person is not within sight. A "Tail End Charlie" may be appointed by the leader if there is a large group. Let him/her know if you need a comfort stop.
