Schedule

The conference will start at 9am on Friday 9/16 and end at 3:00pm on Saturday 9/17. Except for the two Excelsior Lectures, talks will be 20 minutes long and will be followed by 10-minute breaks, including some time for questions and comments.

The conference dinner will be on Friday 9/16. More details are below or on the Practical Information page.

There will be a workshop about grant writing on Saturday 9/17 during lunchtime, led by Allan Greenleaf. Lunch (pizza) will be served. More details are below or on the Practical Information page.

More details coming soon.

Workshop: Research Funding and Grant Writing 101

There will be a workshop during lunchtime on Saturday September 17th, led by Alan Greenleaf, about the dos and don'ts of grant preparation. Pizza will be served.

Abstract: External research funding allows mathematicians to travel to conferences to learn about the latest results, meet others in their fields and  find potential collaborators. Grant travel funds can enable existing collaborations with researchers at other institutions, and stipends can give graduate students time off from teaching duties. I will discuss different types of grants and suggest some do’s and don’ts of proposal writing.

Conference Dinner

The conference dinner will be on Friday September 16th, starting at 7:30pm. It will be held at the Albany Pump Station (map). At the reception, ask for the NAN 2022 party.

The buffet menu will consist of:
Classic Caesar salad
Salmon with artichoke, basil and sundried tomato
Grilled flank steak with chimichurri (turned out to be chicken Masala)
Cheese tortellini with tomato cream sauce
Mixed grilled vegetables
