Final Project

In the final paper, we pulled together the many points we covered previously into a “design document”. Much of what we included in this design document was based on our previous assignments for Analysis/Application in each module. We used these assignments to prepare and deliver a paper that describes how we would develop and deliver one unit of instruction online. A template was provided to assist the students.

The instructor, Susan Manning, stated, "Early on, some students wonder why they should have to write this up on paper, and why be limited to ONE unit? Shouldn't I just ask you to demo a course and put it online? First and foremost, putting it on paper is the best way to double check that there is a strong connection between pedagogy and technology, and specifically between objectives and activities/assignments/assessments, and these are themes you'll hear stressed in this course. Secondly, if you can design at the unit level, you can probably put together a bigger course, but the converse does not always work as neatly. It is possible to envision a whole course and not be able to work the details so that learners are lost and can't learn".
