Screencasting

According to Kathy Schrock (http://www.schrockguide.net/screencasting.html):

Screencasting is the capture all of the action on a computer screen while you are narrating. Screencasts can be made with many tools and are often used to create a tutorial or showcase student content mastery.

Teachers can record their own content/support materials (their own Kahn Academy videos). For the purpose of portfolios, students can record short videos illustrating mastery of specific outcomes/goals/standards and these videos can be embedded in an online portfolio. There are a variety of screencasting apps available for both iOS and Android.
