mcjBoxUV
Introduction
This script was written mostly to help you quickly lay the UV-map for simple objects
The script exports to disk a copy of the selected object with the new UV map
Each facet of the object is projected onto 1 of the 6 faces of a cube.
For example if a facet of an object is facing the sky, its UV map coordinates will be on the top face of the cube
Here is the UV map for a cube

Installation
The zip package is found at the bottom of this page
unzip it in your daz content folder, typically
C:\Program Files\DAZ\Studio\content\
or
C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library
once installed, it will appear in your content library, under
studio\Scripts\mcasual
or
My Library\Scripts\mcasual
Use
The script will only operate on selected items in the scene
You may select
- a Figure
- one or many body parts from the same figure
- a single object
Launch the script
Click on the "Do it" button
you will be asked the location and filename for the exported object
for example "c:\mydazobjects\niceUVCube.obj"
Notice that the script suggests an image size for your texture maps
using this size or image ratio, we get undistorted results as shown here
to obtain a simplified texturing template, click on the "Template" button
then specify a location and filename for the template image
for example "c:\\mytemplates\niceUVCybe.png"
