For the Kangaroo Islanders who were lucky to have known Jean Woolley.

Jean Woolley passed away in the early hours of Thursday June 8th aged 97.

With the exception of the last few years when dementia took hold Jean lived a full life. With husband Brian they were one of the KI Soldier Settlers who not only made a life for themselves but created a community.  The family are very proud of the fact that Jean and Brian were great contributors to the KI community through the building of the Gosse Hall, putting on concerts, the yacht club etc. and of course Jean’s  teaching at both Parndana and Kingscote. Many people grow up not really knowing what they will be, what occupation they will undertake.  Not so with Jean. She was born to be a teacher and so she was.

Jean is now at peace.

The family would like to thank the staff at Carnarvon for the exceptional care given to Jean. We owe a great debt of gratitude to the staff for the care given to Jean.
