"As an art educator I am continuously humbled when a young student is captured in the exploration of art making. No words, no sounds, no questions, just the spirit for discovering. Their work truly is a record of the moment, their marks an essay of their thoughts. As an artist it’s that intensity of exploration I find inspirational. Working as a printmaker, the mixing of color, rolling out ink, sliding the drawing tool across a surface becomes an unpredictable journey of what will result on the paper. I find myself forever an art student, meeting the challenges and satisfactions of creating marks, exploring the new, practicing the old, and trying to master them all."
