Сейчас есть уникальная возможность создать в Санкт-Петербурге центр компетенций по биоинформатике. В городе уже работает компания GGA Software Services, в 2010 году начала свою работу в АУ РАН лаборатория алгоритмической биологии под руководством Павла Певзнера, компания JetBrains присматривается к разработке ПО в этой области. В июне AstraZeneca объявилао создании здесь центра биоиноформатики (планируется набрать 30 специалистов). Исследовательский контекст складывается, важно уже сейчас готовить тех, кто будет понимать как создавать новые продукты и бизнесы в этой отрасли.

Информационные системы во всем, что связано с наличным и безналичным расчетом несут подрывные технологии в консервативный мир банков и платежных систем. Новые игроки, такие как системы платежных терминалов QIWI, Яндекс.Деньги, совместный проект Альфа Банка и Билайна - RURU.ru, банк Олега Тинькова только предвестники будущих трансформаций в этой сфере.
