Chapter  1: Introduction

Geography is a discipline that can be used to analyze and evaluate questions across a variety of interests.  If it "takes place", geographers can study it. 

Geography allows those trained to use it to think in a disciplinary fashion.  That means that geographers learn to ask questions, to see patterns in data, to solve problems and to communicate solutions in a manner that is unique to its practitioners.
