Information about this Site
The purpose of this site is simply to have personal website and where possible to make a valuable contribution to society. I already have a "day-job". I don't consult and I don't take money for anything related to this site. There is no advertising traffic and there is no revenue stream. This is the way I want to keep things.
Construction
This site was made on Google Sites, which is FREE! Seriously it's well worth checking out, especially if you already have a Google or Gmail account.
The Text
The text on this site is entirely my own. It's 100% owned and generated by Gavin Bollard. Any copies of this text elsewhere are exactly that, "copies". I don't particularly mind people copying text from here but where possible, I'd like to be credited as the author. I'm out to make the world a better place, not to sue people.
From time to time, there will be things on this site which offend people. It's impossible not to offend people on the internet. If I've offended you, then I'm truly sorry. It's never been my intention to cause offence.
If you disagree with any of my claims, please let me know. If you provide good reasons, I may change them -- or at least I can add a disclaimer.
Pictures
There are three main kinds of pictures on this site;
I've done my very best to avoid using pictures that I don't have rights to but I guess there's always a possibility that something will slip through. If it does, please let me know. I'm sorry, it's not my intention to claim other people's work and if you let me know, I'll take it down (or give you credit), whatever you want. Don't forget, this site isn't linked to revenue, so there's no point in suing for lost profits.
My Pictures
These are pictures that I've either "made" or taken myself. In these cases, I fully own the picture.
For the most part, these are photos that I've taken during my travels but some will be my own artwork (assuming that it improves).
There's also a few historical photos on this site. I own these photos in so far as the originals from which they were scanned are in my collection and were either purchased or taken by my ancestors.
The best pictures on this site are from Pixabay. I've chosen that site because it's "free" and because the pictures there don't require attribution.
I haven't given individual attribution to each picture because that sort of thing can ruin a site. Nevertheless, if you're a contributor, you have my heartfelt thanks and appreciation.
Screen Caps & Products
I talk a lot about Movies, TV Shows and Games on this site. I also talk about books. Many of my accompanying pictures are the covers of these books, posters of movies or screen captures from movies, games and shows.
These comprise much less than 10% of the product and are generally used throughout the web. I don't claim any of them as my own.
