AP Physics 1 - Units 2 and 3, Models for Motion

Unit 2 Standards (go with sections 1.1 through 1.5 in text)

Unit 3 Standards (add sections 1.6 through 1.9 in text)

Humans are adept at recognizing patterns. And physics began with the recognition that some types of motion contain patterns that can be modeled with mathematics.  Developing the skill of modeling motion is the goal of this unit.

The unit begins with an exploration of the Constant Velocity paradigm, and continues with an exploration of the Constant Acceleration paradigm.  There will be a test on these two paradigms.

Unit 8 will extend the study of kinematics with two-dimensional examples, including projectile motionVectors will be needed to effectively describe this paradigm.
