Indoor Flying

We fly indoors at the Highland Lakes Arena on Saturday mornings from 10 to noon, and at the Royal Highlands Great Hall on Sunday mornings from 9 to 11. Aircraft are restricted to a weight limit of 3 ounces, and AMA membership is required to fly.

SAFETY ALERT: because these aircraft typically weigh less than an ounce, they do not present as much risk of injury as the larger outdoor aircraft. However, because there may be a half dozen or more of these very quiet flyers in the air at once, in a relatively confined space, it is not uncommon for one of these aircraft to encounter another pilot concentrating on his own aircraft. PROTECT YOUR EYES by wearing glasses. If you do not normally wear glasses, you may want to consider safety glasses. Spectators should STAY ALERT!
