Thriller and Forensic Services

I have never in my life wrote a thriller and I can't say that I'm really interested to write one, but thrillers are all about suspense and keeping readers on their toes, and, nowadays, all books (no matter which genre) should be like this, right?

So, I ordered the How to Write a Damn Good Thriller by James N. Frey.

I'm really interested what is hiding under the chapters: The secrets of clever plotting revealed, All about plot structure, Hook'em and hold'em, How to plot a damn good thriller, and Avoiding the muddle in the middle. I hope that it's something that would come in handy to me . well, since I found something useful in every book about writing that I have read until now, I'm sure that I will.

And then Amazon recommended me: Howdunit Forensics, Howdunit Book of Police Procedure and Investigation: A Guide for Writers (the author of this book has a lovely blog full of information) and HowDunit - The Book of Poisons. That has to be an interesting read, too, and I'm so tempted to read them - too bad that I can't find any of those book in my local library.

I also 'stumbled' over: FBI's Handbook of Forensic Services, that can be found on FBI site. Internet is such a wonderful thing - it's just too bad that it gets me distracted with such wonderfully fun things while I should be occupied with something entirely different - but if I ever get a desire to dip my fingers into Mysteries and Thrillers, this is going to become gold.
