ABOUT ME

I work in an accounting department by day and write by night.

To learn more about me you can read my interviews and guest posts:

Guest blog over at 1000+ Books to Read where I wrote about inspiration:

"Some time ago I was sitting in a coffee shop with my friend, giving her a summary of a story I was working on with lots of gesturing and additional explanations of the backstory which almost always ended with ‘well, anyway…’. And after I finished my tale, wondering if I had included everything, she asked me: “How do you come up with this stuff?”

“Well, I don’t know,” I said, since I’ve never really thought about where I get my inspiration. “I guess I just pick up things along the way, mix them all together and this is the result.”

So when I got this opportunity to do a guest blog (thanks to Melissa and Jen) I asked if there was any theme they were interested in and got the answer that they would love to read about how authors get his/her inspiration for stories or books.

I had to think about this one: Where do I get my inspiration? And I found out that the better question would be: Where do I not get inspiration?"

I talked a lot about music, which is my main inspiration, but I also get many ideas from watching fan-made videos and movie trailers on YouTube; anime can inspire me, as can channels like History, National Geographic, or Discovery, which are treasure troves of ideas.

For example, my main inspiration for the Moon's Reflection series is Final Fantasy: Advent Children, with its soundtracks inspiring most of my fighting scenes. For The 13th, I got the general idea about the Soul Reapers and ghosts while watching Yamato Nadeshiko shichi Henge Takano aka The Wallflower. And the idea about The 13th world was inspired by the movie Sucker Punch, the trailer for the 9th movie and fan-made videos about Bleach Also, a fan-made video about Winter Soldier inspired a story set in one of the other worlds of The 13th. However, I never wrote beyond the first 2,500 words, as other inspirations took precedence.

There are also two interviews that mainly talk about the 13th on SF Benson's blog and on Jeanz Book Read&Review blog.
