Registration

The Field School is an open access program that may be taken by anyone who qualifies and is selected through the admission process. The Field School operates in conjunction with a set of cooperating institutions but it is NOT necessary for participants to be from one of these.

If applicants desire university credit then arrangements should be made in advance with the institution where credit will be given. The Field School instructors are happy to help with this process but are not responsible for transferring credits. The courses in the Field School are currently approved for credit as:

  • University of Hawai`i: BOT 440: Advanced Ethnobotany (3 credits)
  • University of Hawai`i: BOT 444: Ethnoecology and Conservation (3 credits)
  • University of Hawai`i: ZOOL/BOT 450: Natural History of Hawaiian Islands (3 credits)
  • University of Hawai`i: BOT 453: Plant Ecology and Environmental Measurement (4 credits)

Applications are free to submit for consideration.

Only the first 24 students who are qualified* to participate will be allowed to register.
