About

Short bio

Since 2024, I am an associate professor (professeur agrégé) in Computer Science at Nantes University and member of the IPI research team (Image, Perception, Interaction) of LS2N. I was formerly a postdoctoral researcher at Ecole Polytechnique (in the former GeoVic  group, now VISTA), at Télécom Paris (in Prof. Tamy Boubekeur's Computer Graphics group) and at Inria (in Marc Christie's Virtual Cinematography group and the former M.P. Cani's Imagine group). I completed a PhD in Computer Science in 2013 at Inria Rennes, under the supervision of Prof. Kadi Bouatouch and Dr. Marc Christie. I have also been a R&D engineer in 2010 (8 months) on the FP7 European Network of Excellence IRIS (Integrating Research in Interactive Storytelling), between Newcastle University (UK) and Inria Rennes (France).

Former research activities

My research agenda is at the crossroads of Arts, Computer Graphics, AI, and User Interaction. I focus on problems related to assisting users in their tasks within the 3D pipeline (controlling cameras, lighting conditions, the film editing process, and rendering images) for virtual worlds or for the real world (e.g. aerial cinematography with UAVs). This drives me making connections with Operational Research, Machine Learning, or Multimedia problems (e.g. film annotation, viewpoint database exploration or video summarization).
