Rare Part Numbers

These are part numbers that are either not listed in the official parts manual, go missing on many cars, or are not easy to find the # for.

Part # 10283439

This is the small rubber mat that goes in the cubby hole in front of the shifter on '97-'02 Camaros. This part number does not apply to convertibles because they have the convertible switch in that location. This part number is NOT listed in the Camaro parts manual. MSRP is $5.84

Part # 17997732

This is the rubber cup holder insert that goes in the center console of '93-'96 Camaros. This part often goes missing because it can stick to the bottom of a soft drink cup and get thrown away. MSRP is $4.90

Part # UNKNOWN

These are the rubber weather strips that are installed on all '98-'02 Camaro SSes. They measure 1 7/8" long and between 3/8" and 1/2" wide. Each hood should have two. They came with 3M-type adhesive on them and over time they go missing. MSRP unknown. IF YOU KNOW THE PART NUMBER FOR THESE, OR A PLACE TO ORDER THESE PLEASE SHARE.

Part #12186586

This is the red little Junction Block on the passenger side wheel hump under the hood on '93-'97 Camaros. This often breaks and allows grease and grime to collect on the electrical connections. MSRP is $15.35

Part #10413888

GM part #10413888 is the hood adjustment bumper for the outer corner of the hood on '93-'02 Camaros. You will need two. These often break over the years because the original part (Part #10157703 — now discontinued) was not as strong. MSRP is $4.46 each. Below, you can see an old 10157703 next to a new 10413888. Note: 10413888 does not come with the "hat" or "cap" that goes on top. That cap is part #14093705. You will need 4 caps for a '93-'97 Camaro and only two caps for a '98-'02 Camaro.

This is what #10413888 looks like with the #14093705 cap attached.

Part #14093705

These are the caps that #10413888 wears as a hat. These make contact with the hood and typically don't deteriorate over time, but if you are missing a bumper you will need one of these as well. The caps are Part #14093705, MSRP is $2.70 each. If you are missing all bumpers for a '93-'97, you'll need 4 of these. If missing all bumpers for a '98-'02 you'll need 2 of these.

Part #10309494

On a '93-'97 Camaros, there are two hood adjustment bumpers located near the center of the front bumper. These are not broken or missing as often. The original part was the same Part #10157703 (now discontinued) as above, but the current part number is Part #10309494 and the MSRP is $4.39 each. Update: unfortunately... #10309494 is now discontinued as well. You might as well try using 2 of the above mentioned #10413888 bumpers instead.

Associated with these 4 bumpers on a '93-'97, is a cap that these wear as a hat. These make contact with the hood and typically don't deteriorate over time, but if you are missing a bumper you will need one of these as well. Part #14093705, MSRP is $2.70 each.

Part #472450

On a '98-'02 Camaro, the inner two hood adjustment bumpers plus the hexagon cap on them is a single GM part: #472450. You don't need these for a '93-'97. Since the inner hood adjustment bumpers on a '93-'97 are much further forward on the car than on the '98-'02 Camaros, these may not fit a '93-'97....

Part #12551599

This is the push-in retainer for the outlet duct of the air intake on '93-'97 Camaro Z28s. This often disappears after you have the car worked on. Sometimes when service mechanics check your air filter, they just lift the filter housing out, break this retainer, and it goes flying. MSRP is $1.09.

By the way, you remove this by gently popping the center portion halfway out of the large disk portion with a screwdriver. Some people break this part by prying the large disk up because they don't understand how it works.

Part #25043286

This is the stainless steel retainer hinged clip that goes on all '93 to '02 Camaros regardless of engine and many other GM models. You might also refer to it as a latch or clasp. Two of these hold the air filter box shut.

MSRP is $6.82 for 1, GMpartsdirect only sells them as a set of 6, so you'll likely want to try elsewhere like ebay.

Part # 12568750

This is the white sticker to be placed over the black OEM sticker after a voluntary recall to the A.I.R. pump emission control system on '95 to '97 F-bodies with the 5.7L LT1 engine. Research TSB #99083 for more information. This sticker was included with part #88880033, which was the 'part' (series of parts) used to fix the voluntary recall on the Air Injection Reactor (A.I.R.) pump emission control system. Read more about 88880033 below. Not all cars received this sticker for some dumb reason, even if the recall was taken care of in the year 2000 or later. This sticker is expensive by itself at a list price of $20.45. GMpartsdirect has it for $13.01 plus shipping, and we all know how unfair their shipping prices are ($10.97 for a FREAKING STICKER at the time I'm writing this in the year 2014).

Part # 88880033

This is the collection of parts involved with the voluntary recall to the A.I.R. pump emission control system on '95 to '97 F-bodies with the 5.7L LT1 engine. Research TSB #99083 for more information. This includes a new A.I.R. pump, the pieces that needed replacement because of corrosion, and the sticker for the new routing. This part number is about $100 cheaper than buying the A.I.R. pump all by itself (which is part #12554580).

Part # 16513315 and 16513316

These are the headlamp retainer rings that go around the headlamps of '93-'97 non-export Camaros. According to the GM Parts Wiki, these were $29.50 each in 1993. They include a bubble level indicator that is often cracked on these cars due to age. The low beam and high beam headlamps use the same rings, but the left and right are flip-flopped. The left hand (passenger side) low beam one is 16513315, the right hand (driver's side) low beam one is 16513316. The left hand (passenger side) high beam one is 16513316, the right hand (driver's side) high beam one is 16513315. The exported Camaros with RPO code T72 used 16514261 for both sides for the low beams. I don't know a part number for the export rings for the high beams. I don't know how they visually differ from the American/Canadian market Camaros' parts.

1993-1997 windshield wipers

The '93 to '97 aero-windshield wipers are difficult to find replacement blades for because they attach differently from most current cars. Either keep the wipers stock and just replace the inserts (what a pain in the butt that is!) or buy wipers from NAPA Auto Parts, model number 60-024-9R. Most other brands will not attach to the wiper arms. Supposedly Trico Exact Fit 24-9R are a good substitute for the NAPA wipers, but I have no personal experience with them. Just about any windshield wipers fit the '98-'02, but the factory ones are Bosch black painted metal ones and NOT AC Delco plastic ones (at least for 2002...).

Part # 10198281 and 10198282

My site will always be focused on Camaros, but this is an unusual little difference between the Firebirds and Camaros. The Firebirds have little plastic covers at the end of the drip rails in the trunk. These covers have a gap underneath them, which allows most of the water to go underneath the piece (as it needs to). However, there is a tiny slot on the plastic piece to ensure it doesn't pool water on it. The LH one is Part# 10198281 and the RH one is 10198282.

Camaros don't have anything like this. These look really nice on Firebirds, but I would assume it could hinder the draining quite a bit when washing the car or in heavy rain. Thank you to Tristan D'Aveta for many of these pics and the part numbers!
