Conjunction of Poetry and Astronomy

A conjunction of the Moon and Venus occurred on Sunday September 8, 2013.

A conjunction describes a sky event where two astronomical objects approach each other as seen from Earth's surface. This is all in appearances though - in space they may still be millions or billions of kilometres apart.

AAJ president Errol Rickmann was on hand with telescopes and digital camera to capture the event and was inspired by a conjunction of events to pen a poem, posted here on the AWB Blog along with photos.
