NRCC Application Process

Meet with your Career Coach

    • If you plan to apply to NRCC

    • If you’re unsure about what you might study in college or do after college

Complete the on-line application

    • Visit www.nr.edu and click the "Apply" button at the top of the page

        • NOTE: You need to keep moving through the application until you "submit" it and receive a username and temporary password

    • If you have taken dual-enrolled classes, you already have an application on file with NRCC (email Mrs. Sproule if you need your NRCC ID and/or username)

Take the Virginia Placement Tests (VPT) if needed Changed due to COVID-19 response

    • English & Math

    • Offered at RHS several dates in the spring

    • Offered at NRCC throughout the year on the Dublin campus and at Mall Site

    • May be exempt based on high school GPA, course-work, and SAT/ACT scores (see Mrs. Sproule for this information)

Complete the FAFSA

    • Visit www.fafsa.ed.gov

    • Application opens October 1 and due Jan. 15 for ACCE eligibility

Complete the ACCE application

    • Visit www.nr.edu/acce

    • Application opens October 1 and due February 1 for ACCE eligibility

    • Students need their NRCC student number and NRCC email in order to complete the ACCE application

    • Students will immediately receive an email after the ACCE application is submitted

      • Check NRCC email immediately after ACCE application submission

Seek additional scholarships & complete applications

    • See Financial Aid website for reputable scholarship search sites and application tips

    • NRCC Education Foundation Scholarship - www.nr.edu/sa (usually opens in January)

      • $1,500 scholarship

      • Student cannot receive both ACCE and an Educational Foundatin Scholarship; however

      • If your student will receive the full Pell Grant (based on the FAFSA), the student will not need ACCE money; therefore, should apply for the Educational Foundation Scholarship

Register for NRCC classes in April

    • This will happen at RHS in mid April

    • You will have your fall schedule of classes in-hand

    • Go to classes

    • Stay focused

    • Continue to work hard
