ACCE Program
ACCE is an economic development public/private partnership which makes college available debt-free to current year high school, home-schooled and private school graduates who reside in the city of Radford. ACCE will support our youth by making college within reach. With the support of ACCE, students will graduate from NRCC prepared to join the workforce or transfer to a four-year university without college debt. ACCE supports as many students as possible based on available funding.
The ACCE application will open on October 1, 2021
Students must:
Have at least a 2.5 GPA to qualify and must maintain a 2.5 GPA while in the program (will consider senior year grades only if necessary).
Attend an ACCE info session at RHS
Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and complete all FAFSA generated documents.
Qualify for Virginia instate tuition and reside in the City of Radford at least one year prior to ACCE application date.
Complete at least 80 hours of community service annually; starting after RHS graduation
Maintain full-time enrollment of 12 credits.
Pay tuition and fees for credits over 15 (funds will support up to 15 credits during fall and spring semesters).
Purchase their own textbooks.
Enroll in a degree or certificate program that meets federal financial aid requirements.
Take a College Success Skills course during their first semester at NRCC.
Not take online courses during the first semester, except College Success Skills.
Reimburse the program for any ACCE-sponsored course in which the student is unsuccessful.
Complete both English and math placement tests (unless exempt – see Career Coach for more information).

NOTE: if you live outside the City of Radford you may still apply for the ACCE Program through the municipality where you reside (Montgomery, Pulaski, or Floyd). Dates and deadlines are the same.
ACCE Procedures
Go to www.nr.edu/acce to submit the ACCE application - DUE February 1, 2023
You must enter your NRCC Student Number (EMPLID) and NRCC email address
If you don't have this information, see Mrs. Sproule asap
Your NRCC email address is your "username@email.vccs.edu"
You will receive an ACCE confirmation email immediately after submission in your NRCC email account
Go to www.fafsa.gov to submit the FAFSA application - Due February 15, 2023 for ACCE consideration
You MUST list NRCC's school code in order for the school to receive your FAFSA
Submit all additional required documentation to NRCC's Financial Aid Office (if applicable) - DUE March 15, 2023
All Financial Aid information will be communicated to you through your NRCC email account only
The Financial Aid office will begin processing FAFSA's in mid-December
After your FAFSA is processed you will find out (via email) if you were selected for verification by the federal government and need to turn in additional documentation to the financial aid office
