What is a Career Coach?
In a high school, the career coach is a unique resource dedicated to helping students discover and develop plans for their future. A Career Coach can help students with:
Career exploration and assessments
Mapping out a plan for the future – goal setting
Assistance with matching each student’s unique abilities and interests to a career that will compliment him/her
Work-based learning (WBL) opportunities
Job shadowing
Internships
Apprenticeships
Post-Secondary options
College exploration – ranging from certificate programs, associate’s degrees and beyond
Information about the Community College System and the programs offered
Military/Apprenticeships/Employment
NRCC and ACCE program information
Help students with all aspects of the NRCC and ACCE application process:
Administer required placement tests
Communicate deadlines and requirements for ACCE eligibility
Financial Aid assistance
Help with frequently asked questions, setting up FSA ID, FAFSA completion
Scholarship application assistance
