Dual Credit Options

Course Offerings and Dual Credit Options

Interactive Television Courses - Dual Credit

The Distance Education Network (through CESA 11) offers Interactive Television (ITV) courses which provide additional class options to students, above and beyond what is offered at Northwood.  Some courses are offered as high school credit only, while others are dual credit - where students receive both high school and college credit.

College-credit courses are available to seniors in the top 25% of their graduating class, or seniors in the top 50% with an ACT score of 24 or higher.  Students must receive a C or better in order for the district to pay for the credits.  The following courses have dual credit agreements through CESA #11 and are run through UW-Eau Claire, Barron County:

We offer additional classes as approved, through various UW-system and Technical College institutions.

Start College Now Program

Formerly known as Youth Options, the Start College Now program allows high school students to attend a Wisconsin technical college — either full- or part-time — and earn both high school and technical college credit. You are eligible if you go to a public high school and have completed 10th grade with good academic standing, met any course prerequisites, have written approval from your parent or guardian, and have no history of disciplinary problems.

The program opens the door to greater learning opportunities for those who are motivated to get started on their careers and who are ready to try a new learning environment. Wisconsin's Early College Credit Program (ECCP)

Beginning Fall 2018, high school students at public and private high schools in Wisconsin can earn college credit through the Early College Credit Program (ECCP). A student selected for the program may be permitted to enroll in a UW System institution, or an alternative private, non-profit institution of higher education (IHE) to take one or more courses for which the student may earn high school credit, post-secondary credit, or both. Under ECCP, the costs of the courses are shared among the IHE, the school district or private school, the state, and in some cases the student’s family.
