What is a AED?

An AED is a automatic external defibulator.

What does a AED do?

An AED reads the heart rhythm and tells you is a shock is needed. If it sees the pacient needs a shock because their heart is not beating it will shock the person through the pads you put on one side on the body and the diagnial side. In a bolt similar to the one to the left.

What do you do when you need a AED?

First you turn on the AED and it will inform you about what to do. But before you proceed you must make sure that everyone around you is aware that the person is going to be shocked. So yo say "CLEAR!" Then you start following the directions of the AED.

How do you know a AED is in the area?

Every mall or public place should have a AED on the premise's. Usually you will see signs like this. However they may vary in different countries.
