After school Clubs

Makerspace After school Clubs

The after school Makerspace Clubs at the John F. Kennedy school are mainly supported by an amazing group of parents who are motivated and dedicated to providing access to making to all of our students. Club sessions run 3-4 times per year and are 100% free to all students. Parent volunteers and teachers facilitate the sessions that meet once a week for either 2, 4, or 6 week sessions. If there is an idea for a club, we try and make it happen by ordering supplies, helping to come up with engineering challenges, and making registration easy.

Past Clubs have included:

  • Circuit Town

  • Upcycled and Unconvention jewelry

  • Mazes

  • Ramps and Balls

  • Beautiful Stuff (a project collaboration with Somerville's Beautiful Stuff Project)

  • Bristle Bots

  • Wind Tunnels

  • Cardboard Costumes
